IT DR or Cyber Specialist or perhaps someone who works in a related "preparedness" field? Do you live, work or travel within South Western Ontario? Then, I feel you would benefit from joining our DRIE-SWO chapter and accessing the many benefits this membership provides.
DRIE organizations are member-based, not-for-profit associations of practitioners and others involved or interested in business continuity, disaster recovery, crisis management, contingency planning and related preparedness fields. There are DRIE chapters all across Canada and in Australia.
DRIE chapters exist to promote professionalism in these disciplines and to facilitate member-to-member exchange of ideas and information. At DRIE-SWO, we normally hold a full day symposium twice a year, usually in May and November. These events feature (1) presentations by industry experts on contemporary topics in the preparedness field, (2) opportunities for networking and (3) access to vendors and services providers, all without that "sales pitch" you dread..
Our chapter is guided by a volunteer executive, has a voting membership and provides various services (see the "About Us" tab on this site). Membership fees may be tax deductible as dues to a professional association if you pay them rather than your employer.
